Helping Your Older Pet Keep Active

As our pets get older, we’ll notice that they change – some of these changes maybe subtle, but could include:
Cats and Dogs
  • Difficulty jumping up
  • Difficulty climbing stairs
  • Not so keen on moving about
  • Not moving fast so often
  • Find smaller turns difficult
  • Run-outs or refusals at jumps
  • Longer rides more difficult
  • Not keen on lifting feet up to be picked out or for farrier

The majority of complementary therapies are suitable for animals of any age, including for those who are older.  As with any therapy or treatment, it is essential that you get your Veterinary Surgeon’s approval before commencement.  There maybe specific reasons when a complementary therapy may not be suitable – a professionally qualified therapist and your vet will be able to advise.
